2025 September – Greene Family West Coast Road Trip
Much of this years activities were short trips meant to save expenses leading up our big trip in September. Initially, this trip was planned as a road trip with Mei and I traveling by car to the Page Az area where she could visit the sandstone canyons; this is something she wanted to do since first arriving in the US. After a while, daughter #1 told us she was interested in spending time with us at home in South Carolina. So, the trip changed to one where we would meet the daughter in AZ, view the canyons, and then drive to SC to spend time together. But the plans changed again when daughter #2 and her husband decided to come along too. So, once again the trip mutated. At this time Mei’s Daughters and Son-in-law traveled to the US to visit. 2025 February – Ringling Brothers
Ringling Brothers – Barnum and Baily Circus returned the Columbia SC in February. Howard had not gone to see this show since about 1978. Mei had never seen this show and had last been to a circus when she was young. We both had trepidations – thinking it would be a little “lame”, but this turned out to be an excellent entertainment that we could have sat through for an additional hour or two. Without the animal acts – the circus seems to have actually improved.
Ringling Brothers – Barnum And Baily Circus is still the “Greatest Show on Earth!”
2025 January – Snow In Irmo
For the first time in three years, it snowed at home in Irmo, SC and this time more than the usual 1/2 inch. Mei got a few minutes to go out and enjoy it. One day we will have to travel to some place where there is a real snow and we can bu8ild a snowman, ice fort, and do all those things she never did in Singapore.
